Horns (Sonotrode) is the tool of ultrasonic welding which contact workpieces. It transmits high-frequency mechanical oscillations (friction energy) to workpieces. Horns (Sonotrodes) are designed according to the specific frequencies of converter, it is not allowed to use horns to connect converters in different frequency. General used material for horns (sonotrodes) are aluminum alloy for aircraft, titanium alloy and harden steel. Nowadays, FEM Finite Element Method) calculation is often used for the optimum oscillation behavior of the ultrasonic sonotrodes.
